Did you know there are multiple ways to interact with objects in SoWork?

There are customizable signs and logos (you can learn more about those here), but you’re also able to embed pages, give folks access to external links, and more!

Here’s how.

Embed Pages

Embedded pages allow you to access pages of your choice from within your SoWork Office. This could be Google Docs, Sheets, Notion documents, and much more!

1. Press B to Open Mapmaker, then scroll to the Office Tools category.

2. Here, you'll find whiteboards, signs, podiums, suggestion boxes, and a variety of other options. You can also embed a page or any other interaction into most objects in Mapmaker, so feel free to explore the other categories to find what you need!

3. After choosing and placing your item, press E to edit it.

4. Next, select Embedded Page from the dropdown menu.

5. From there, throw in the link you'd like to use and the prompt you'd like folks to see when they walk up to the object. When you're done, click Save.

6. Now, when you close Mapmaker and walk up to the object, you'll see your prompt.

7. When you press F, your embedded page will open within the app.

Accessing External Links

Want to create an easy access point for certain links or websites? Here's how!

1. Follow steps 1-3 from above to choose and place your object.

2. Next, select External Link from the dropdown menu.

3. From there, enter the link you'd like to take others to and write the prompt you'd like them to see when they encounter the object. When you're done, click Save.

4. Now, when you close Mapmaker and walk up to the object, you'll see your prompt.

5. When you press F, your external link will open :)

Food

This interaction allows you to order from your favorite food spots from within your SoWork Office.

1. Follow steps 1-3 from the Embed Pages section above to choose and place your object.

2. Next, select Food from the dropdown menu.

3. From there, write the prompt you'd like them to see when they encounter the object. When you're done, click Save.

4. Now, when you close Mapmaker and walk up to the object, you'll see your prompt, and when you press the F key, a menu will appear that shows you different food ordering options (UberEats, Deliveroo, and DoorDash).

5. Click on the one you'd like, and you'll be taken to their website directly (in a separate tab).

Uploading Files

You can upload any files you'd like into your SoWork Office for easy access. When set up, these will act like an embedded page, and can also be downloaded by others.

1. Follow steps 1-3 from the Embed Pages section above to choose and place your object.

2. Next, select Upload File from the dropdown menu.

3. From there, select the file you'd like to upload.

4. Next, write the prompt you'd like them to see when they encounter the object. When you're done, click Save.

5. Now, when you walk up to the object, you'll see your prompt, and you can press the F key.

6. After doing so, your file will open up within SoWork as an embedded page.

Broadcast Podiums

Using this interaction allows you to quickly access the Broadcast feature from any object.

1. Follow steps 1-3 from the Embed Pages section above to choose and place your object.

2. Next, select Broadcast Podium from the dropdown menu.

3. From there, write the prompt you'd like them to see when they encounter the object. When you're done, click Save.

4. Now you'll see the prompt when you walk up to the object, and you can press the F key.

5. After doing so, the menu for the Broadcast feature will appear.

Travel Menus and Teleportation

Travel Menus allow users to move easily between all of your available rooms, and Teleportation allows users to teleport quickly to another room of your choosing.

1. Follow steps 1-3 from the Embed Pages section above to choose and place your object.

2. Next, select either Travel Menu or Teleport from the dropdown menu.

3. From there, select your destination room if you've chosen Teleport, and if you'd like folks to teleport automatically when they encounter the object. You can also write the prompt you'd like them to see. When you're done, click Save.

4. If you've chosen Travel Menu, you can jump right to writing the prompt you'd like them to see when they encounter the object. When you're done, click Save.
